The Rye Opportunity Shop (Southern Peninsula Community Fund) is a voluntary organisation located near Hygea Street in Rye, Victoria.

The shop was established in 1958 without any affiliation to a group or organisation.  Donations to over 200 Clubs, Groups and Organisations in our Community in that time are now in excess of $3 million.

How can you help to continue our work for the local community?

  • Donate goods for sale in the shop

  • Volunteer for shop duties (Sorting/sales only)

  • One 3 hour shift per week

  • Browse the shop for one of its many special bargains

  • All clothing including boutique items

  • Costume jewellery and fine jewellery

  • Shoes, bags and accessories

  • Extensive range of books

  • Games and Puzzles

  • DVD’s, records and CD’s

  • Cutlery and Crockery

  • Bric a Brac & sports equipment

  • Pictures

  • Baby equipment & Toys

All donations (except large furniture, mattresses & electrics) are gratefully accepted.
All volunteers are unpaid.
An Eftpos facility is available.

COMMUNITIES WE SUPPORT

Proceeds from the shop are used to support Community organisations on the Southern Peninsula.

The Rye Opportunity shop have contributed $150,000 recently to the Rosebud Hospital.  For more information read this Peninsula health article.
